Brake pistons with scoring, corrosion damage, or leaks (pressure loss) compromise the safety and performance of your braking system. Our precision-manufactured replacement brake pistons made of hard-anodized aluminum are suitable for overhauling, reconditioning, and servicing fixed calipers with 2, 4, 6, or 8 pistons. Every size is available in four designs (Type 1–4) – the price per piece is identical for all types.

Selection Note: Before ordering, please measure the exact diameter (D1) of your removed piston and identify its design. State the required type (Type 1, 2, 3, or 4) or your measured dimensions (H1, h2, d2) in the order comments during checkout. Pistons are supplied individually and without a seal kit.

Designs at a Glance

Brake pistons with the same nominal diameter exist in four designs depending on caliper model, installation position, and sealing system:

  • Type 1: Cylindrical piston for calipers with internal scraper ring.
  • Type 2: Cylindrical piston with stepped top / recess for calipers with scraper ring.
  • Type 3: Piston with stepped flat top and groove for mounting a dust boot.
  • Type 4: Piston with stepped chamfered top (with bevel) and groove for dust boot – also a direct replacement for previous ceramic piston versions.

How to Identify the Right Type: Check the Dimensions

Compare the dimensions of your removed piston with the technical diagram in the product images:

  • D1: Outer piston diameter (nominal dimension)
  • H1: Overall piston height
  • h2: Base depth / height up to the inner recess
  • d2: Top diameter at the dust boot seat (for Type 3 and Type 4)

Matching Seals & Dust Boots

For a complete overhaul you will also need new seals and dust boots. Matching parts as well as seal conditioner can be found in our dust seal & dust cover size overview.
